Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa: Ancient Temples & Nile Views

After our visit to Marsa Alam, we decided to book a car ride and spend 2 days in Luxor.
The ride would have been good if we hadn't stopped and shopped at a Bedouin tent where they completely ripped us off.
One thing to understand about Egypt is that they are on a mission to take your money at every corner, so it is good practice to be super cautious and resist the temptation of buying too much. Luxor is one of those places that instantly transports you back in time—quite literally, because in August, it feels like you’ve been dropped straight into the middle of an ancient Egyptian summer with no AC.
Walking around the temples and tombs in peak afternoon heat? Let’s just say I have a newfound respect for the pharaohs and anyone who lived here before air conditioning was invented. How did they do it? Was hieroglyphic for "it's too hot" ever a thing?
Thanks God I had my Feeria fan and a parasol at all time. (you can read more about our sweaty sticky experience here).
We planned for only one night stay in Luxor and after reading a few reviews online, we decided that Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa would be the best option for us.
After a long day of traveling, getting practically robbed by beduins on the way there stepping into Hilton Luxor felt like an instant upgrade in life.
The hotel sits right on the Nile, which means you get front-row sunset views over the water, something that alone makes the stay worth it.
The room was a bit outdated but honestly had everything we needed. Very comfortable bad.
Dinner on the Nile: Romance & Really Good Food 🍽️🌊
Now, let’s talk about one of the highlights of our stay—dinner on the Nile.
We had really bad experience in Marsa Alam with food where I actually even got food poisoning, (first time for everything isn't it so?) so we totally craved some real food. And to be quite honest, we did not expect to get it here.
To our surprise, the food was quite good but the atmosphere was absolutely romantic. They gave us the table closest to Nile while we had our early dinner watching the river Nile reflect the last golden rays of the day.

Souvenir Shopping
If you’ve ever been to a major tourist city in Egypt, you know that souvenir shopping can be a bit of a sport—a mix of bargaining, dodging aggressive sales pitches, and trying to figure out whether you’re about to overpay for a tiny pyramid statue.
So here’s a tip: skip the stress and go straight to Khaled.
Khaled runs the souvenir shop downstairs at Hilton Luxor, and unlike most street vendors, he’s actually fair with his prices, friendly without being pushy, and genuinely a pleasure to deal with.
We had such a nice chat with him, he explained us that this was his family business for many years. It was just refreshing to finally meet someone who didn't just want to sell us something but a very genuine and kind person.
There is also a very nice jewellery shop next to it. I managed to buy a very cute dolphin pendant at a very reasonable price.
Even though we only stayed one night, Hilton Luxor made a big impression.
💎 Perfect location for exploring Luxor’s temples & tombs.
💎 Super comfortable beds & dreamy pillows.
💎 Romantic Nile-side dining with delicious food.
💎 Friendly and professional staff.
💎 A souvenir shop that’s actually worth visiting (shoutout to Khaled!).
Would I recommend Hilton Luxor for your trip to Luxor? 100%.
We would definitely come back but next time for a bit longer so that we can also experience the SPA.
