I’ve had the pleasure of staying at The Chedi hotel in El Gouna, Andermatt, and now Lustica Bay, and I have to say—this one is my favorite so far. Montenegro may not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking of luxury beach resorts, but The Chedi Lustica Bay proves it should be.
I’ve visited The Chedi Lustica Bay twice in 2 years , once in the summer with G and once in the winter with my mom, and both times, it was an incredible experience. Whether you’re looking for a sunny seaside getaway or a peaceful off-season retreat, this hotel delivers on comfort, style, and a true five-star experience.

Getting to The Chedi Montenegro
Once you arrive, you immediately feel like you’ve entered a private coastal retreat, far from the crowds but still close to everything you’d want to explore.
What I immedietely noticed is that wonderful fresh smell of the new hotel. The design is modern, airy, and seamlessly blends into the coastal surroundings.
What I really loved, though, is how much effort went into making Lustica Bay feel authentic. Orascom did an incredible job building the entire bay using native stone, so instead of feeling like a man-made resort, the area looks like a charming Italian coastal town—cobbled streets, stone facades, and Mediterranean vibes everywhere. It feels like a place with history, even though it’s brand new.
The staff is exceptional—genuinely welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. From check-in to check-out, the service here was faultless.
The Room
I stayed in the same room type both times, and it was absolutely perfect.
✔️ Spacious and filled with natural light
✔️Nice view from the balcony ( you can choose if you want to have the partial or full seaview)
✔️ Aqua di Parma toiletries for that extra touch of luxury
✔️ Thoughtfully designed interiors that feel cozy yet sophisticated, beautiful warm colors in the room

Food & Dining
The food at The Chedi Lustica Bay is just as impressive as the hotel itself.
Breakfast (Winter) – À la carte, but still plenty of delicious options to choose from.
Breakfast (Summer) – A lavish buffet spread, perfect for fueling up before a day at the beach.
Beach Restaurant The Rock – Convenient, with fresh seafood and Mediterranean flavors right by the water.
There is also Italian restaurant which we didn't check out last time
The Spot was exceptional
Beyond the hotel, Lustica Bay offers some fantastic dining options, including a bakery and a selection of charming local restaurants.
The Spa & Gym
I’ll be honest—I made it to the gym exactly once, and it was probably unnecessary after all the walking and exploring we did.
The spa, however, was a must. The treatments were top-notch, and the relaxation areas made it impossible not to unwind completely.
The Beach & The Bay
The hotel beach is incredibly convenient, with comfortable loungers and clear blue water. There are four beaches in the bay, though only two are currently open while the others are still under development. Only one the hotel beach is reachable by foot, the others you need to get a car for or a baggy.
What really impressed me was how Orascom has thoughtfully developed Lustica Bay into a little coastal village rather than just another resort. It feels like a real, vibrant place rather than a tourist-only zone. With the native stone buildings, small piazzas, and charming alleyways, it genuinely feels like a picturesque Mediterranean town—except with all the benefits of a luxury retreat.
Exploring the Area: Kotor, Tivat & Porto Montenegro
One of the best parts of staying in Lustica Bay is how easy it is to explore more of Montenegro. We took a car and did day trips to:
🚗 Kotor – A stunning medieval town with cobbled streets, historic charm, and breathtaking bay views.
🐟 Ribarsko Selo – A fantastic spot for fresh seafood by the water. Highly recommend it for a laid-back lunch. The food is to die for there. And it is probaby my favorite restaurant in Montenegro.
🌃 Tivat & Porto Montenegro – A must-see if you love luxury yachts, chic waterfront restaurants, and stylish boutiques. It’s got a bit of a Monte Carlo vibe, but with a more relaxed feel. Btw this is the place where I had my first near death experience about which you can read more here. Of course it changed a lot, The Palm hotel where this dreadful moment happened is still existing but in the old area of Tivat.

Final Thoughts: I love The Chedi chain and I am a huge fan of their work. I am planning to go back again of course as many times as possible to all of their hotels but Lustica Bay is the closest to my heart. Maybe because it is in Montenegro where I spent my summers as a child, however I must say that this hotel exceeds expectations and won't disappoint even the biggest globe-trotters.
