The Okura Prestige Bangkok: A True Slice of Heaven in the City

The ride from the airport was taking ages and the city looked absolutely insane and hectic from the car.

Bangkok can be overwhelming for a first-time visitor - loud, chaotic, and full of energy—but the moment we stepped into The Okura Prestige Bangkok, it felt like we had entered a different world. Calm, elegant, and absolutely flawless.

Honestly, I have zero complaints about this place. Not a single one. It was so perfect that I genuinely wished we had stayed longer—but someone (cough G cough) was too excited to get to the seaside and start diving, so I didn’t get nearly as much time soaking in the japanese luxury as I deserved.

The hotel is pure perfection. Immaculate in every way, from the flawless service to the stunning rooms, the luxurious amenities, and the absolute best breakfast we have EVER had anywhere. And we stayed at some really nice hotels around the globe.

This was our first time in Bangkok, and we truly didn’t know what to expect. The five star hotel offer in this city is overwhelming and we really struggled to choose a hotel before visiting Bangkok. But the moment we walked through the doors of The Okura Prestige, we realized we had made the right choice.

Several years ago, I stayed at The Hotel Okura Amsterdam and completely fell in love with that place, so my expectations were already pretty high. However, I must say that The Okura Bangkok exceeded my expectations in every way.

Everything about the hotel feels effortless—from the seamless check-in to the attention to detail that makes you feel like an honored guest.

The room was absolutely perfect.

✅ Incredible views of Bangkok’s skyline

✅ A bed so comfortable we never wanted to leave

✅ Impeccable Japanese-style design with a calming ambiance

✅ A high-tech Japanese toilet (because once you’ve used one, there’s no going back)

Every single detail was thoughtfully designed, even the tea pot in the room and the little origami they left on our bed one evening.

The Breakfast at Okura Prestige in Bangkok: The One Meal I’d Wake Up Early For 🍣🥐

Now, let’s talk about the real star of the show—the breakfast!

Both of us stayed in a lot of luxury hotels, but I can confidently say: this was the best breakfast we have EVER had.

From perfectly fresh sushi, delicate pastries, tropical fruit, Japanese-style miso soup, and some of the best matcha tea I’ve ever had.

Every morning, I tried to pace myself, but who am I kidding? By the second plate, I had already given up on portion control. G was practically dragging me away from the table every morning just so we didn’t miss our plans.

Honestly, if this hotel was just a breakfast spot, I’d still come back. And I am not exaggerating.

Lunch at Yamazato

Still dazed and spaced out from the long 11 hour flight from Milan, we decided to have lunch at Yamazato, the hotel’s Michelin-recommended fine dining Japanese restaurant.

The restaurant definetely reflect the Japanese spirit and I still haven't been to Japan yet, I am assuming it pretty much looks like this. The understated elegance, an open sushi counter, and a quiet sophistication that made it clear this was not just another hotel restaurant.

The food was Immaculate.

We originally booked three nights, thinking it would be enough to get a feel for Bangkok. Big mistake.

We ended up falling in love with the city, and a huge part of that was thanks to this hotel. Every moment here felt special, from the warm hospitality to the little details like the kimono robes waiting for us in the room (which, of course, I ended up buying because I couldn’t leave without one).

We didn’t even have time to check out the spa, but judging by the rest of the hotel, I’m sure it was pure bliss—not that I got the chance to find out, because G had us on a strict "get to the beach as fast as possible" schedule.

Final Thoughts: 10/10, No Notes

I’ve stayed at The Okura in Amsterdam before, so I already knew the brand was something special, but The Okura Prestige Bangkok took it to another level.
